Information Technology is the first branch with which Women's Polytechnic was established in the year 2003 with an intake capacity of 30 students per year. It mainly deals in imparting the technical skills and developing the knowledge of application of various hardwares and softwares. Domain of this branch is spreading by leaps and bounds and encompassing all activities of human life. There is huge manpower demand as the country is slated to develop at a faster rate. Job opportunities range widely from Software Industries to all core Engineering Industries. Besides that on an average 50% of the pass outs venture for higher study in the form of Lateral Entry to 2nd Year Engineering classes and complete Degree Engineering in another 3 years after the Diploma Programme. This facility is available in the state as well as outside the state of Tripura. The software skills are imparted to the students through this course so that apart from enabling them to avail more scopes for higher technical education, they could be absorbed by the industry as well.

In the year 2007 as the Institute got affiliated to Tripura Univesity, a new branch, namely, Computer Science & Technology has been introduced with an intake capacity of 30 students per year.
